Join us on Friday, September 22nd 6:30-8:30pm
No Plans this Friday? Spend it with us for our Autumn Equinox Workshop!
Spend 2 rejuvinating hours with us connecting our mind, body and soul through restorative yoga, guided meditation, sound healing, tribal movement and reiki healing. As the season changes from sun screen and pool days to hot cocoa and pumpkin picking, it’s important that we take the time to adjust and make that mental and physical shift. In our workshop circle we will celebrate a new season and all the positive opportunities that await us and connect us. We will acknowledge and let go of the Summer’s energy, making the mental space for what the new Fall Season will bring.
What is the Autumn Equinox?
Twice a year, around March 20 or 21 and Sept. 22 or 23, the sun’s rays shine directly over the Earth’s equator. These two days are known as the March (vernal or spring in the Northern Hemisphere) equinox and the September (autumnal) equinox. During both the vernal and autumnal equinox, day and night are balanced to nearly 12 hours each all over the world. Instead of a tilt away from or toward the sun, the Earth’s axis of rotation is perpendicular to the line connecting the centers of the Earth and the sun during an equinox.
From this point on, daylight in the Northern Hemisphere will gradually grow shorter until the winter solstice.
